The traditional wood attic ladders are available, but most prefer the aluminum for their lightweight, easy operation.  The Aluminum attic ladders also offer the widest dimensional range.  They will cover widths from 22-1/2″ to 25-1/2″ and floor-to-ceiling heights from 7′ to 12′.  The WH Series wood attic ladders are the heavy-duty units offering 350 lb load capacity and width up to 30″.

The newest units are the Steel Series and the Televator(TM).  The Steel Series units offer ladder width greater than the aluminum 25″-wide units in a 22-1/2″ wide cutout.  The added weight is offset by struts to make operation as easy as possible.  The Televator(TM) is Werner’s newest attic ladder.  This telescoping unit will fit in any opening 22″ x 22″ and greater.  Since you make the door, you decide how much room to allocate.  The small footprint allows the Televator(TM) to be installed virtually anywhere.
